Clan Macnab Society, Inc.

Chuck,

Just thought I would drop you a note about the recent K.C. Highland Games.  Another pretty good year this year…a little wet in the beginning but around noon the skies cleared and it was a beautiful day.  My wife and I spent a while talking to a young woman from Glasgow…she cited the rain storm as proof that God is English…we found her later (after it cleared) and she added “God must be English…looks like he figured out he couldn’t dampen our spirits and he gave up trying to do so…” We found that pleasantly amusing…

In any case, I’ve attached a photo of Sarah and I walking in the Parade of Tartans. Note the Macnab shirts I made for us! The wonders of the internet…I tell ya…
Directly behind us is Mrs. Rosalie McNab Smith.  She is a kind and endearing woman and it has been our great pleasure to spend time with her each year.

Until we started going to the games four years ago, she was the only Macnab to march in the parade.  I consider it a great honor that she asks me to carry the family flag each year.  We are few - but we are proud!

Next year Sarah and I (and another local – Ron MacNab) are going to co-host the clan tent with Rosalie.  As far as we know, the Macnab Clan has been sharing a tent with the Pollock’s for many years.  We figure it’s about time we had our own…which leads me to my next bit of info…I look forward to speaking with you in person about the ‘ins and outs’ of hosting a clan tent….

Sarah and I have decided that we are going to make plans to attend the St. Louis Games this year.  We look forward to meeting you and learning even more about the clan and the society. In any event, I have to say that we are looking forward to experiencing the games in a different setting.

I hope all is well with you and yours and we look forward to seeing you soon.

All my best,
Allen
